About

I am a self-taught artist and love to paint in both oils and watercolours.

I love the big skies and wide, rural landscapes of rural North Essex as inspiration and when I can I paint outside, ‘en plein air’, to try to rapidly capture the changing light using broad brush strokes and quick application of paint.

In addition to oils, I love the magic of watercolours, preferring a loose style that lets the transparency of the watercolours show through. I sell original watercolour paintings and have many reproduced as limited edition Giclee prints and cards, which are sold online and at local shops and markets.

I have also started turning some of my paintings into fabrics, starting out with tea towels and napkins.

I run watercolour classes at a local art group in Great Dunmow and from home where I share the techniques and skills I’ve picked up over the years, with subject matter including birds and flowers, landscapes and still life.

I was delighted to be a ‘wildcard’ entrant on the 2019 and 2018 Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year television programme.

I live in North Essex with my husband and two children.
